Newton’s Bike and Skate Exchange has been a fixture in Toronto since 1931. It is well known for its wide variety of bicycles including both new and used models. This is also a family-run local shop that many Torontonians grew up visiting to get fitted for used hockey gear, figure skates and skate sharpening.
The store offers bikes from brands like Opus, Raleigh, Fuji, and Breeze, making it a top choice for cyclists of all levels and tastes. Newson’s also provides a wide range of vintage bike props for film and TV productions. Recently, a beautiful 1960’s tandem Schwinn was rented for a show:
The other thing that Newson’s provides is a beautiful work of art to admire when you pass by on Jane. This beautiful mural is acrylic on stucco and was commissioned by the store from artist and renowned mural painter John Kuna.
Newson’s Bike and Skate Exchange is located at 612 Jane Street, Toronto.
